Hi,

I have a little buddy, almost 1 year young. His name is Quint van Erven. He is the son of Ozz and Shirley and has a sister named Melissa.
 
Yesterday I visited him and he is doing well. Quint is on a list to receive a liver transplant hopefully anytime soon. He'll be moving with his mom and sister to the Netherlands to be closer to Brussels where the liver transplant will take place.
 
Quint is a strong and resilient boy. I believe that in his first year he has received more operations, incisions, shots, antibiotics and painkillers then most of us will ever experience in a lifetime.
Nevertheless he is a happy boy.
 
The question I had was: What can I do for this kid.
I came up with the following idea.
 
I'd like to ask you to donate a little bit of your healthy liver energy to Quint. I know it sounds awkward and you might ask yourself how this is going to work. Don't worry about it too much. It is all about intent.  Send an email to the following address: quint.vanerven@gmail.com
 
Include the following text.

A good friend of yours, Mike De Vries, told me that you were a bit under the weather and in need of positive thoughts and wishes.  Well I am writing you today to offer both!

I received Mikes email several days ago and since then you’ve been on my mind, in my heart, in my thoughts and in my prayers.  I’ve thought of exactly how to say what I wanted to say to you.  I considered quoting a passage from the bible.  I thought about perhaps quoting lines from a motivational speech given by a sports legend.  I even thought about quoting a passage from a book I read to my children when they were your age.  But no matter how clever, meaningful or motivational those quotes were; they just didn’t seem to sum up precisely what I wanted to say.

You face a difficult road ahead.  Your parents face some sleepless nights and anxiety that I can only imagine.  However one thing holds true.  Together you can beat anything!  The love a parent has for their child is boundless and all-encompassing.  You keep the faith and draw from their strength and will.  I don’t know what higher power your family worships, but I do know that whatever deity you place your faith in will never forsake you and will always be by your side.  With the love and support of your family, your personal strength and courage and your faith there are nothing but bright days ahead of you!
