Today we were again in ST. Luc hospital for Quint's biopsy. Quint received his IV line in the morning and they took blood after this it was waiting before we could go down to the OR. In the afternoon we could take Quint down, there were 2 more patients before Quint. When it was our turn the specialist asked if we wanted to stay for the procedure. This we wanted. Quint received his general anesthesia through the IV and when he was sleeping with the mouth cap. First a very small incision was made in the stomach, the specialist took a long thin needle and pushed it al the way through the stomach into the liver and took it out very quickly. With this he took a piece of the liver measuring about 1 cm by 1 mm. From this little piece they can tell so much. The whole procedure took about 5 minutes, very fast. Quint slept for a while and when he arrived back in his room the slowly woke up again and was very lively again as if nothing had happened. Quint was not allowed to get out of bed, which was a nuisance because he wants to get out and walk around. Now again we waited and waited. We had to wait for the results, which would be known only the next day after 1700. The next day Quint was allowed to walk around. And at 1715 Dr. Xavier Stephenne came to tell us the results. The biopsy and the echo were both good. According to the echo, Quint still had some liquid behind his lungs but this does not worry the doctors. So we could go back to The Hague and get ready for the flight to Dubai, Finally after 1 year all 4 of us going back to Dubai. This was a great feeling..we are going home.

Today Oscar is coming from Dubai again and we will spend the last 3 weeks together and the entire family will go back to Dubai afterwards. 25 August was Quint's birthday he is now 2 years. We ordered a very nice 'bumba' cake. At the moment Bumba is Quint's best friend. The living room was nicely decorated and Quint was spoiled with presents and it was a very cozy birthday and Quint enjoyed all the attention he got from everyone.

Today with had an appointment with dr. Soema. Dr. Soema is a pediatrician and specialized himself in bioresonance therapy. With this you can test for which product you can develop an allergic reaction and what kind of disturbances there are in the body. (Dutch website: www.bioresonantietherapie.nl). Quint has an intestine disturbance and because of this he is allergic for many product. Dr. Soema could not treat him first the intestines need to recover. He did give a list of products that Quint should avoid and a list what he can take but that looked very sober. With to probiotics we could go home again. And in November we again have an appointment. Hopefully the intestines have recovered by then. Quint apparently is allergic for a lot of products like.Gluten, egg white, cow milk, soy.. so there is not much left. But in order to get rid of the disturbance we have to be strict. So we bought some special cookies, crackers, and flour at www.sorgente.nl to take with us to Dubai. Quint is crazy about trix, this is fruit flavored corn flakes balls which also appeared to be bad for Quint because of the coloring but we will not take this away from Quint. It has to remain fun for him and we are so happy that he eats this by himself.

Today we had a high point with Quint. He took his first steps by him self. By Tuesday he was unstoppable and was walking constantly around the room by himself
