November
Today is Melissa's Birthday. In the afternoon the house was full of visitors and Melissa was spoiled with presents. Quint also enjoys the
attention. Their cousin of 1 year spontainously made her first steps. Friday Heidi arrived from spain for the weekend, also Jacqueline from Curacao was in Holland and came for Melissa's birthday. Seeing each other was unique since we all live so far apart now and it was very nice to meet like this.
Saturday evening when the party came
to an end, Heidi noticed that Oscar's foot was extremely swollen. He had tripped and hurt his ankle the day before we left. He did not see any major problems. But when I saw his foot, we all insiste
d that he would go to the emergency room. His foot was extremely swollen and red and could be an infection. A doctor looked at it and prescribed antibiotics and had the foot wrapped. Plus he was instructed to take some rest and put his foot up. Luckily that was the solution and after about 5 days his foot was back to normal.
3 November we were in the car early in the morning to Brussels for Quint's checkup. We arrived early and we done quickly. We were helped by dr. Xavier Stephenne and ofcourse Magda was also there. We asked him if Quint could go to a nursery and he did not see any problems with that. Quint likes to play with other children. So starting January we will start with two mornings nursery. Now we have to find a nursery. Quint also got an echo and we had a consult with the dietician Mrs.Dassy.
Quint has special hypo allergenic formula milk due to his allergy for milk. We would like to try to reduce his milk intake and for that we need some help of the dietician. Mrs. Dassy is very cooperative but sometimes our conversation is a little difficult due to the French language. It is necessary for us to experiment on our own with Quint’s feedings and that is not always easy to do.
Around noon we were done with everything in the hospital. Now quickly pass by the pharmacy 'van der Velde' to pick up some medication and then we were on the way back to Holland. In the afternoon Magda called us that the blood results and the echo were good. Next big checkup will be 16 February for the yearly biopsy.
5 November we had a consultation with Dr. Soema to see how Quint's allergies were doing. With bio resonance this can be checked. Quint's allergies are a lot less. So the intestine disturbance is becoming less so he can withstand more types of food. Gluten, Soy and egg white should not be a problem anymore. Also the milk allergy is a little less and we can carefully start trying some milk products. We still have to limit
sugar and colorings. We have to continue with the probiotics and in February we also have a consultations to check upon the intestine status.
7 November I went with Melissa and her cousin Robin and her mother Lisette to the K3 concert. We already bought the tickets in August and now the moment was there. It was an excellent show. The girls enjoyed themselves tremendously. Afterwards we went by McDonalds as a closure of a great day.
Quint stayed with Oscar at home. Our stay in Holland was very nice, we visited few friends and 14 November we went back to Dubai. Luckily Quint was not greatly effected by the jetlag this trip. We arrived on Saturday en Sunday Melissa had to go to school again. So we had to get up early and luckily it went well. The remainder of the month went by quietly for Melissa and Quint.
27 November we took Quint again for his monthly blood testing. Luckily everything went by quickly. Now we have to wait a few days for the results. Quint looks very good and does well.
