October

Saturday 4 October we went to Dr. Waseem for a consultation. In Dubai he is Quint's specialist. He had not seen Quint for more than one year and was very pleased that Quint was doing so well. We handed over and discussed all the details and after a quick checkup we could go again. Quint will give blood every month to check the liver values and based on these results the medication will be adjusted if needed. We will keep every doctor informed here in dubai and will sent the results also to St. luc. and the doctors in st. Luc will decide on the medication adjustment. We again will inform dr. Waseem about the adjustments. Should we need a doctor here in Dubai we will go to dr. Waseem. A excellent pediatrician and gastro entrologist specializing in the liver. We are very happy with him.

In the morning we usually go and do things because Quint has to take his nap in the afternoon. He sleeps from 2 till 5. To skip this is very tyring for him. The shops open at 10 and so we have little time to look around because you have to drive long distances to go somewhere and back.

The month progressed quietly until 25 September..Quint had vomited a lot in his bed in the evening. At midnight we had to wash Quint and clean his bed. We still had the camping bed in our room and decided that Quint would sleep in our room. Unfortunately we did not sleep much this night Quint kept vomiting the entire night. In the morning we called dr. Waseem and we could come immediately. He admitted Quint in the American hospital where he was administered fluid over the IV to prevent further dehydration. The cause? Maybe a virus or something he ate. Hopefully it would be under control within 24 hours. Quint was very weak during the day in the hospital. He also vomited in the afternoon. Around 4 in the afternoon he was so tired that he fell asleep. Luckily he did not vomit anymore and he slept most of the evening and night.

The next day Quint was feeling a lot better and started to talk again. Everything was again under control and we were allowed to go home in the afternoon. We still have 2 days before we leave again for Holland. We have a checkup there and will celebrate Melissa's birthday there. Tuesday and Wednesday Quint was still a little weak but was well enough to travel on thursday. Wednesday Oscar slipped and hurt his ankle on a wet step.

Thursday morning at 5 am we got out of bed and dressed everyone and at 6.30 the taxi arrived to take us to the airport. The flight went very well and granddad was waiting for us in Dusseldorf airport. Oscar was driving back to The Hague and after 1.5 hours found out that he missed an exit and we had to turn around and go back. We stopped for some coffee. Because of this the drive took longer than normal. When we finally arrived we were welcomed by Linda, Luna, Robin and steef. Very good to see everyone again. Luna and Melissa were very excited to see eachother again. We all were very tired and went to bed early. Melissa woke up at 5 am. This was definitely because of the time difference. It took a few days before she finally had adjusted. Quint also was effected by the time difference. With Holland there is a 3 hour time difference. Not much but it has a major impact on Quint. But luckily everything goes well. We do realize that we will have to wait before we can take Quint to Curacao. That time difference would be too much for him. We are now very happy that it goes so well with Quint and it is important that that continues and that he gets very strong. Only then we can think of going to Curacao.
