Time in Dubai

The return flight was uneventful. No problems with the cabin pressure. It was good to be home again. Unfortunately our maid Shiroma had to leave unexpectantly that left us with more planning before we could do anything. Luckily I was at home often and that way Shirley was able to do nice things.
Quint did become ill again. High fever which did not recess with paracetamol. Finally blood was taken and Quint was admitted to the pediatric ward in the American Hospital Dubai. He was put on intravenal antibiotic treatment. After only one day Quint was again his old self. Now he had to finish the treatment. While Dr. Waseem was away, Dr. Dinesh and Dr. Deanne took over and checked quint everyday. After a few days Dr. Waseem was back and took over again. We were hoping that Quint would be dismissed before his birthday. If this would not be possible we nurses arranged for us to have a party in the play area. This was not necessary as Quint was dismissed on the 24th. The nurses were a bit disappointed the next day when Quint was gone. But they were happy for us.

Quint Birthday party was very nice, and little Quint enjoyed every minute of it. Shirley did her best with the organization and all the snacks. The ‘pastechi’s’ were the best.

A few days later we went again to Dr. Waseem for a checkup. We asked him if we could continue with the vaccination program. We could. So a few days later we went to get one of the required ones at one year of age. Like with all vaccinations you can develop a fever afterwards. In this case the fever came 4 days later, on the eve of our return to Holland. So the next day once again we went to the emergency room, where again blood was taken and the rest of the ritual was performed. It took forever and we did not fly back to Holland. After the results were in we were allowed to go back home since nothing showed cholangites. At home we also checked with Dr. Tabbers in Holland, she advised us not to fly, and to have Quint admitted. After speaking with Dr. Deanne we decided to postpone our return for a couple of days and monitor Quint at home.

2 days later we finally left for Holland.
