stay in amc hospital and later going to dubai

Saturday, June 30 Quint was again admitted in the hospital for 10 days with a suspected cholangitis. Os had return the same day back to Dubai and I remained in Quintje and Melis remained back in the Hague with grandfather and later with grandmother. The pediatric ward in the Amc was at that time very quiet. After two days .... I quite coincidentally got in contact with the parents of chivan ... he was admitted a day later as quint and also with cholangitis also galgangatresie.

Even more a coincidence is that both children were placed on the waiting list for livertransplantation around June 22. Quint in Brussels and Chivan in Groningen.

Chivan had much trouble with ascites and looked very yellow. I heard liver values... that you could not imagine that they existed so high.

Quint on the other hand looked quite good and his liver values are also extremely well but he still has enough complications such as a bad hyperportal vein. This being the reason why he has been put on the list.

I had to do and with the parents and Chivan himself. It was nice to get to know them because you have something in common and it clicked very nice plus  we still tried to make it a little cozy despite the circumstances.

The past few days we were the only ones in the Ward. And the nurses had not much to do because we cared for our boys ourself. One evening we went to eat at a nearby wok restaurant...and the nurses had all the time to watch the kids... and we could relax for a while from the hospital. It was a pleasure getting to know them and we are very curious to see how it our boys will do in the future. We will keep contact.

Before oscar returned to Dubai last month we had to arrange some things. One was a school for Melissa. Since we live in Dubai, we want her to continue her education in english. Coming September she will attend the international school of the Hague.

11th Dr. Smet performed the 3rd endoscopy. All was good and Quint is allowed back to Dubai until beginning of September. The doctors insist that we take a direct flight to minimize the effects of the presure difference.

In Dubai I checked with dr. Waseem if he could treat Quint should bleedings occur, he can. But he will go on vacation beginning of August. He gives me names of possible doctors who may be able to help Quint should it be required. I try to contact some of them, and I end up with Dr. Dinesh. He is a gastroentologist for adults. Dr. Waseem is a pediatric Gastroentologist. Dr. Dinesh is willing to help should it be needed I provide him with Quints medical history. Hopefully it is not required.

I changed the tickets to depart from Dusseldorf so we can fly non-stop to Dubai. We are happy at least we have a month in dubai as a family and Melissa is able to go to her summercamps.
