back home (dubai)
December 2, Oscar Melissa and grandmother came back to Holland. Grandma went back to her home in Curacao and Oscar remained with us to celebrate his birthday and Saint Nicholas. It felt good to be together as a family again. I had missed them enormously. We had a relaxed December 5 and Melissa enjoyed the presents. Monique, Rick, Jacky, cousin Robin with Mom Lisette were also there.
Oscar returned to Dubai on December 7th and we had to stay until we had approval to return to Dubai as well. December 8, we had another appointment with Dr. Aronson and Dr. Tabbers. The Blood values looked good and Dr. Aronson asked: When do you want to go home? December 18, I replied and we got the approval. Great news. I should be home just in time for the visit of my friend Karin. Karin already bought her ticket 8 months ago. I called her immediately with the good news.
Oscar came back on the 15th and we flew back on the 18th.The flight was uneventful and it was good to be home again. Our neighbors came to greet us. Manon, Scott, Janice, Kees. I really enjoyed seeing them again. 20 December Karin arrived and that evening we had a Christmas diner at the community center where we live. Oscar had to work so I went with Karin and Melissa. Shiroma, our maid, stayed with Quint. A nice evening out.
The whole Christmas period was very nice and was gone very quickly. As dinner we had a fondue with our friends Kees, Janice and kids. New Year’s was very different than what we were used to. No fireworks, nobody on the streets. However with Karin and Janice we toasted the new year 2007. (The men were working) The moment I raised the glass I thought let’s hope everything goes well with Quintje. The last few months were so hectic that I hope it goes well for a while with him and that we can handle everything together.
